Explaining the selections, head coach Tony Popovic said the group had “been rewarded for the hard work they’ve put in to get an opportunity overseas,” adding that only two more camps and four matches remain before the squad for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 is finalised. Even without playing, Adams remains firmly in the picture as one of the new faces under consideration. That he earned a call-up barely two months after moving to Japan is itself a sign that his form in the J1 League is being recognised back home.
