According to the report, Adams made his season debut in the opening round, has since made six J1 League appearances, and came off the bench in Gamba’s 4-1 win over Cong An Ha Noi in the opening round of the ACL Elite league stage on the 15th, steadily building playing time under the club’s new setup.
Newcastle form behind the recognition
Adams joined A-League side Newcastle Jets in 2024 and scored 20 goals in 52 appearances, earning the competition’s Young Player of the Year award for 2025-26. The paper noted that many pundits had tipped him for the squad after the World Cup only for him to miss out at the time, and suggested his form in Japan has since factored into this call-up.
